A number of Leicester Turkish restaurants have been named semi-finalists in the Turta Turkish Restaurant & Takeaway Awards. Organisers say the event has grown into one of the “most anticipated” in the UK’s hospitality calendar.

The awards, in their third year, aim to highlight restaurants, cafés, and takeaways bringing Turkish flavours to local communities. This year has seen two different Leicestershire-based locations make the semi-finals for the Best Delivery and Fine Dining Restaurant categories.

Up for the Best Delivery accolade is Istanbul BBQ House, in Shackerdale Road, Wigston . It is up against competition from 20 other restaurants from across the country, including sites in London, Leeds, and Birmingham.
