A number of people have visited Ricky Hatton's gym on Market Street in Hyde this afternoon to lay tributes to the world champion boxer .

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the 46-year-old's body had been found at his home in Gee Cross on Sunday morning.

Since news of his death broke, fans and fellow sporting icons all over the world have been expressing their grief on social media .

Locally, those who regarded him as 'The Pride of Hyde' braved the stormy Manchester weather to lay flowers and other mementos at his home , as well as outside of his gym in the centre of his hometown.
