For decades, illness in Bodoland often meant debt, long journeys to distant hospitals and, too often, tragedy. But over the last two years, a quiet transformation has been underway. The Rog Nirmul BTR Mission, launched by the Bodoland Territorial Council under the leadership of Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, is changing the health landscape of the region and touching lives across tribal and non-tribal communities alike.

Official figures suggest the impact has been dramatic. Maternal deaths have nearly halved in the last five years, falling from 264 per 100,000 live births in 2021–22 to 136 in 2024–25.
