HAMPTON, Va. — Hampton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect after a man was shot early Sunday morning.

Police said they received a call about a shooting around 2:03 a.m. in the 600 block of Powhatan Parkway. When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators said the suspect went to the victim’s home and knocked on the door. When the victim answered, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

The victim was treated at the scene by Hampton Fire and Rescue personnel and then taken to a hospital for further care.
