A slight warming trend is expected through mid-week, with gradual cooling for the second half of the week, forecasters said Sunday.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid-80s along the coast through Wednesday, the upper 80s in the inland valleys, mid-80s in the mountains and low 100s in the deserts, forecasters said.

Those highs should drop into the low 70s along the coast heading into next weekend, the low 80s inland, upper 70s in the mountains and mid-90s in the deserts.

An influx of tropical moisture will bring chances of thunderstorms for the middle to end of the week in the mountains and deserts.
