Supermarket shoppers have been urged to be mindful when parking their car at sites across the country, after experts outline set 'rules' which should be followed.

Specialists have argued drivers should always reverse into parking bays, with researchers at Nottingham University claiming one in five traffic collisions occur in car parks.

Which? has also previously conducted an analysis on accidents at supermarkets, with the experts stating vehicles are twice as likely to suffer damage in a grocer's car park than in a shopping centre car park.

The organisation states: "When it comes to parking bays, you should be reverse parking. By that, we mean you should be reversing into your bay, so you can drive out forwards when you leave.
