ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP, MI – Police are investigating after three suspects crashed a U-Haul into a hookah store and tried to steal an ATM.

Michigan State Police in Detroit responded to Prestige Hookah Store on West 8 Mile Road in Royal Oak Township at 3:25 a.m. on Monday. The suspects had left the scene when police arrived.

An investigation revealed that three suspects utilized the U-Haul to ram into the closed business and attempted to steal an ATM.

The U-Haul has not been reported stolen, but it did have a punched ignition and damaged steering column, police said.

The Ferndale Fire Department and DTE arrived on scene to assist with a damaged water line and electric lines.
