A man was tragically found dead after reports to police of a concern for his welfare, GMP has revealed.

The force said it was being treated as 'an isolated incident' and stressed there was no risk to the wider public.

Police an emergency services were called to the Blackrod area of Bolton at around 7.30am on Monday morning.

It's understood to have happened in the Vicarage Road West area of the village.

In a statement, GMP said: "At around 7.30am today (15 September), officers responded to reports of a concern for welfare for a man in the Blackrod area.

"Sadly, the man was found deceased. There is no wider risk to the public, with it being treated as an isolated incident.
