COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Authorities say a man is facing charges after a weekend shooting at a Midlands hotel.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said 33-year-old Jerry Williams was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
RCSD said Williams’ charges stemmed from an incident where deputies were called to 8310 Two Notch Road at around 6 p.m. Sunday. An online search matches the address to an InTown Suites location.
The sheriff’s department said deputies discovered a victim at the scene with a gunshot wound to the upper body. EMS later arrived and took the victim to a hospital.
RCSD said deputies later learned the victim was reportedly shot by Williams following an argument.
