POTSDAM, New York (WWNY) - It’s described as “one of the most significant downtown investments in decades.” Potsdam’s Streetscape and Riverwalk projects are now underway.

“This is a day long in the making,” said Mayor Alexandra Jacobs-Wilke.

It’ll bring new streetlights, sidewalks, drainage systems, walking routes, and more.

The 2 projects are nearly half of Potsdam’s $10 million state grant it received in 2019 to revitalize its downtown. This fall, the village is working on renovating Raymond Street, part of the Streetscape project, as well as the Sandstone Art Walk portion of the Riverwalk project.
