AUBURN — To Hugh Freeze , Auburn football 's next opponent is poised to reach the highest levels of the sport.

"I'm looking, to me, at a team that should be in the (College Football) playoffs discussion," Freeze said Monday, Sept. 15.

In the 25th-ranked Tigers first ranked-on-ranked matchup since 2021, their head coach is holding the opponent, No. 12 Oklahoma , in high regard. The Sooners , like Auburn , enter SEC play undefeated, getting there with resounding victories against Illinois State, Michigan and Temple and beating their opponents a combined 101-19.

"I think we're playing one of the better teams in it this Saturday, and that's probably going to be the case for the next few Saturdays," Freeze said.

Freeze sees a dominant team, and the same goes for its quarterback. J
