The scarecrows are coming.

They’re popping up in front yards and perched on porches. They’re dressed up like famous monsters, pop culture icons and regular old people.

Most of all, they’re helping raise money for good causes throughout the area.

Scarecrow Madness has returned to take over Johnson County, as homeowners, businesses and organizations create tableaus that are sometimes zany, sometimes spooky, but always fun.

In the six years it has been going, the project has not only captured the imaginations and wonder of local residents but also helped support area nonprofits as well.
