Roughly 120 people gathered in Hailey's Hop Porter Park on Friday night for a candlelight vigil held in honor of victims of political violence including conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed Wednesday during a speaking event at Utah Valley University.
Kirk's assassination touched off widespread condemnation of political violence. Elected officials, leaders and citizens in Idaho and across the country offered condolences for Kirk's family, including his wife and two kids, and called for Americans to reckon with a spate of recent attacks on prominent figures across the political spectrum.
