Grumpy's owner Pete Prekeges has been disqualified from the race for Ketchum mayor by the Blaine County clerk.

The ruling means the Ketchum mayor's race, in which real estate investor John Wigdale challenged Prekeges, will be uncontested. Voters will still cast their ballots for the Ketchum City Council races and council-manager ballot measure.

County Clerk Stephen Graham, who is also the county's chief elections officer, stated in a recent letter sent to Prekeges and in a Tuesday news release sent to the Express that Prekeges is ineligible for elected office in Ketchum because he claims a homeowner's exemption for a property in Hailey, meaning his legal city of residence for voting purposes is Hailey under Idaho code.
