Carey Panthers head volleyball coach Teresa Smith felt every player on the team deserved recognition for an “all-around” 25-9, 25-17, 25-17 victory over the Dietrich Blue Devils in Idaho Class 1A Sawtooth Conference action on Thursday at Carey High School.
“I’m proud of these girls,” she said. “They’ve been playing well together. They’ve been learning how to execute. That’s the important thing. They’ve had good attitudes and kept them up. They’ve supported each other as a team. That’s what it comes down to because we’ve got to stay together as a team. We’ve got to believe in each other and ourselves.”
Smith liked the energy the Panthers came out with to start the game as Abbi Whittier’s second service ace of the contest gave Carey an early 9-2 lead in set one.
