Mobile mayoral candidates Spiro Cheriogotis and Barbara Drummond shared their goals for promoting government transparency and improving the city’s quality of life in a polite debate hosted by WALA Fox 10 before next Tuesday’s runoff election.

Cheriogotis, a former Mobile County District Court judge who previously ran as a Republican, and Drummond, a longtime state representative who has been re-elected as a Democrat for years, took part in the first debate for Mobile mayoral candidates since beating Mobile County Commissioner Connie Hudson and fired Mobile police chief Paul Prine in August’s general election.
