EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A local organization dedicated to helping young people who haven’t graduated from high school held a graduation ceremony of their own Monday night.

At Willard Public Library, YouthBuild Evansville celebrated the 17 students who completed their program.

YouthBuild works to help people get their high school equivalency along with other skills to help them build a career.

One vocational instructor for YouthBuild says it means a lot to see the students grow during the program

“Day one to 24-week mark, how much a transformation they’ve made. I think the young gentleman that spoke today, he wasn’t comfortable at all speaking in the beginning. And for him to be able to deliver, what amounts to a Valid Victorian speech is pretty impressive for us,” says vocational ins
