Southeast Minnesota man accused of making, uploading child sex abuse material

AUSTIN, Minn. — A southeast Minnesota has been accused of creating and possessing child sex abuse material.

Jason Dean Vandeweerd, 40, of Austin, Minnesota, faces a felony charge of producing child sex abuse material and 13 felony charges of possession of child sex abuse material.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Mower County District Court:

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children informed the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension that a Microsoft Bing user had uploaded multiple files of suspected child sex abuse materials onto BingImage. BingImage provided investigators with multiple internet provider addresses used by the account associated with the uploads.
