WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Students at Wichita State University said they were not concerned about a vigil Tuesday evening honoring Charlie Kirk. The local student chapter of Turning Point USA planned the event set to take place outside of the Rhatigan Student Center.

Wichita State Senior Will Dirnbeck said he doesn’t see violence breaking out. He said he was surprised that there weren’t more tensions on campus.

“I haven’t seen anyone be threatening or anything like that,” said Dirnebeck, “so right now, I don’t feel concerned.”

Another student, Alex Hendrikson, said he believes Wichita State is a safe campus.

“For me, I’m not really too worried about it,” Hendrikson said. “I don’t think anyone’s gonna come out here. But even if they do, it’s a safe campus. I don’t think anyone should be wo
