PHOENIX — Luke Air Force Base is on heightened alert and officials are searching for a man on base who is possibly armed.

28-year-old Christian Villa is possibly armed with a handgun and was last seen near the Saguaro housing office, base officials said. He is Hispanic, wearing a black tank top, has a full beard and chest tattoos, officials said in a statement to residents at the base obtained by 12News.

Base residents are being asked to lock their doors and close their garages. The South Gate remains open to traffic but officials are searching vehicles.

Officials ask residents to report any suspicious activity to 623-856-7676.
