VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A 16-year-old student was arrested Tuesday morning after being found with several knives at First Colonial High School, Virginia Beach police and Virginia Beach City Public Schools said.
After school resource officers were notified around 8:14 a.m., they found the student in the school’s main office. The student was arrested without incident. Officials said there was no direct threat to students, staff, or the school community.
The student was charged with one count of possession of a weapon on school property.
Police commended the swift actions of school administrators and the professionalism of the SROs, which helped ensure the safety of everyone involved.
