LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI - Vice President J.D. Vance said Wednesday the Trump administration’s sweeping tax cut and spending bill will rebuild the economy for young people in Michigan, during his rally in Howell .

But unlike several months ago, Vance did not frequently refer to the package as the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Instead, during a speech at Hatch Stamping that lasted a little under 30 minutes, he called it the “Working Families Tax Cut,” evidence of a Republican effort to rebrand President Donald Trump’s top legislative priority.

Last month, Vance also used the new phrase for the bill during his visit to the Atlanta area and other Republicans have as well. Trump’s contentious One Big Beautiful Bill passed the Senate 51 to 50 on July 1. Vance cast the tie-breaking vote.
