DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- Tonight's Hometown Hero received the most prestigious honor from the Steelton Police Department.

Over the summer, Officer CJ Reyes was on the scene of a noise complaint when someone was shot across the street.

Police said the suspect turned to him with a gun in hand, and Reyes fired his duty weapon, striking and immobilizing the suspect.

Steelton police awarded Reyes the Medal of Valor, which is the highest award the department can bestow on any member.
