SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Crews from multiple agencies worked to rescue two hikers along a Scottsdale mountain trail early Wednesday afternoon.
Technical rescue teams from Scottsdale, Phoenix and Glendale responded to a mountain trail on Thompson Peak Parkway , north of Bell Road, around 12:30 p.m. Scottsdale Fire officials say two women, 61 and 69 years old, reported they were lost and out of water.
Teams deployed, including e-bikes and a rescue helicopter. Crews located the hikers, who had been on the mountain since 9 a.m., and they were later flown to the trailhead parking lot to be checked by paramedics. It’s unclear if either was transported to a hospital.
The intersection of 104th Street and Bell Road was briefly closed for helicopter landing zone operations.
