PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Valley man is facing a felony charge after investigators said he was caught shining a laser at a Phoenix Police helicopter that was flying on Tuesday night.

Miguel DeJesus Aceves Soto was sitting at the bus stop near Interstate 17 and Northern Avenue when a police helicopter flew overhead just before 9 p.m.

Court documents said that’s when he pointed his green laser at the helicopter. Officers in the helicopter told Soto through a loudspeaker to stop pointing the laser.

However, authorities said Soto continued to point the laser, so he was warned again, yet he continued, investigators said.

Officers said the incident was caught on their cameras, so police tracked Soto, found a green laser on him and arrested him.
