WELLPINIT, Wash. – The Spokane Tribe of Indians and the State of Washington have enhanced their partnership with a new memorandum of understanding (MOU), the Department of Commerce announced.

Commerce praised the agreement as a commitment to collaboration based on trust, respect and recognition of tribal sovereignty.

"Together, we’ll continue removing barriers and creating opportunities that serve the tribal community today and for generations ahead," said Commerce.

This MOU is the 10th that Commerce has signed with tribal governments across Washington.

The signing included representatives from both the Spokane Tribe and Commerce.
