OMAHA, Neb. —

Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr. announced details for the Terence "Bud" Crawford celebration.

The Omaha native recently became the undisputed super middleweight champion after defeating Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas.

So to welcome him home, the community is getting together for a parade.

"The Champ's 'Bud' Celebration Parade" is set for Sept. 27 at 10 a.m.

During the Mayor's news conference, he said he was "extremely proud" of Crawford.

"It's absolutely amazing. I started getting text messages within minutes of the fight. I started getting people messaging me on Facebook and Instagram, so this city is extremely excited.
