SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield man has been charged after allegedly stealing around $26,000 from a woman on Tuesday, May 27.

According to online court dockets filed on Wednesday, Sept. 17, Marcus Lynn Woodall, born 2000, has been charged with financial exploitation of an elderly/disabled person, forgery and deceptive business practice.

The probable cause statement reports that a 74-year-old woman contacted the Greene County Sheriff's Office, saying that she contacted Woodall to do work on her Koi pond to return it to usable condition.

The victim said she paid Woodall $600 for the work and gave an older vehicle to him to take off $200 off the $600 work. Woodall later asked for a signed check to take to the license office to compare the signature on an old title.
