SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield man who was previously charged with first-degree arson in connection with an apartment fire has now been charged in a separate case after allegedly setting fire to a Springfield home, endangering the life of the home’s resident.
According to online court dockets, Michael Anthony Fields, born in 1994, is charged with first-degree arson in Greene County Circuit Court.
The probable cause statement says the house fire occurred on Aug. 11, 2024, in Springfield.
It was determined the fire was intentionally set after gasoline was poured along the porch and front sidewalk of the home and ignited with an open flame, causing extensive damage, per the statement.
