STROUDSBURG, Pa. — Hundreds gathered in front of the Monroe County Courthouse for a candlelight vigil honoring Charlie Kirk's life. Kirk was killed a week ago at a college campus in Utah.
"I didn't really know Charlie until after he was killed, and it's broke my heart, and I just felt that I needed to be here tonight,” said Michael Campion of East Stroudsburg.
One organizer says part of the reason she wanted to hold a vigil was because of how sad her daughter felt when Kirk died.
"It came to my head that if my daughter's feeling like this at 24 years old, how many more young people feel devastated and very lost today, and that's how this all started, to be honest with you, thinking about our youth,” said Deborah Modica, one of the vigil organizers.
