BOULDER — The University of Colorado spun out 35 startup businesses in 2024 based on school intellectual property, the most for any college in the country, according to the Association of University Technology Managers.

That total was good for second-most all time, behind only Stanford University’s 38 in 2022, CU said in a news release.

“Our journey reflects years of careful planning, experimentation and a relentless commitment to supporting our startup founders,” Bryn Rees, CU associate vice chancellor for innovation and partnerships, said in the release. “We’ve embraced Boulder’s collaborative ethos and created a model that aligns with our community’s values while delivering national impact.”
