Afternoon storms will continue across parts of New Mexico into the weekend. Heavy rain will be possible in parts of the state, especially Friday.

Severe weather moved through northeast New Mexico Wednesday afternoon and evening, dropping heavy rain and golf ball size hail. Storms also dropped rain from the Albuquerque Metro to southern New Mexico. Most of the storms have ended tonight, except in far northeastern parts of the state and along the Mexican border. High temperatures have again climbed back up to near and above average this afternoon for most places, with seasonable overnight low temperatures by Thursday morning. Fewer showers and storms are expected Thursday afternoon, but a couple could still drop heavy rain in southern and eastern parts of the state.
