An Ayrshire hotelier has shared the latest update on their planned £3 million investment at a popular seaside venue. ‌

New bedrooms at the Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride have opened this week as owners SimpsInns progress with their upgrades at the venue. ‌

Up to 50 new jobs could be created by the investment which includes a new spa and 17 additional bedrooms as well as alterations to the restaurant and function rooms. ‌

Lee Simpson, one of the directors at the family-owned SimpsInns, gave a hard-hat tour of the venue as work on the spa progresses and the final touches are added to the remaining bedrooms.

Speaking to Ayrshire Live, Lee said: "The main investment is coming from the hotel and the new spa.
