Terrified pupils were locked in a Birmingham school and plunged into darkness as West Midlands Police probed reports of a 'boy with knife' outside.
Scared children were kept in lockdown for almost an hour amid "mad panic" at Green Meadow Primary School in Selly Oak , yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, September 17.
Lights were turned off at the school site as officers rushed to the scene on Green Meadow Road at around 3pm.
