MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development project to improve the intersection of U.S. 165 near Teakwood Drive in Ouachita Parish has begun.

Officials say construction is expected to mostly complete by November 2025, weather permitting.

LADOTD says the almost $1.6 million project includes the installation of a J-turn and removal of the crossover at Ray Drive to enhance traffic safety and mobility.

The work zone spans from the U.S. 165 intersection with Finks Hideaway Road to just north of the U.S. 165 junction with Teakwood Drive.

LADOTD says construction will require temporary nighttime lane closures.

Lane closures will not be permitted during the following times:

U.S. 165 Northbound:

Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Friday, 6:30 a.m.
