SIMPSONVILLE S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Former University of South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw is in stable condition after collapsing on Wednesday evening, according to a statement released by the city of Simpsonville.
Shaw collapsed while coaching his son’s 8u football team at Gracely park and was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital, the statement says.
“The Simpsonville Parks & Recreation Department and City of Simpsonville have Mr. Shaw and his family in our thoughts and prayers and wish Mr. Shaw a full and speedy recovery.”
Shaw was the starting quarterback for South Carolina from 2011 through 2013. In that time, he helped lead the Gamecocks to three consecutive 11 win seasons for the first time in school history.
