ROLESVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A special education teacher in Wake County was arrested Monday following an incident involving a disabled student, a warrant shows.
The arrest of Rolesville High School special education teacher Jodi Ellen Catt was announced in a letter from Principal Phelan Perry.
Catt, 56 of Clayton, is accused of kicking a disabled student while the student was sitting down on Sept. 10. She is charged with misdemeanor assault on an individual with a disability, according to a warrant filed by the Rolesville Police Department.
Court records show Catt was released on $2,500 secured bond. She is scheduled to make her first appearance in Wake County Court on Oct. 20.
According to district officials, Catt joined the Wake County Public School System in August 2004. She was named
