LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington mother has been accused of assaulting and trying to choke her son to death with a broom handle while drunk in the early hours of Monday morning.

A criminal complaint alleges that just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 15, the police were called to the 400 block of Macadam Drive. At the home, Stephanie Goodwin, 39, met the police and said she had been assaulted by her son.

While talking to the police, Goodwin said he was not injured and had not complained of any pain, but he left home on foot.
