RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — William Peace University has received a donation of $5 million to benefit scholarships, officials said Thursday.
According to university officials, the $5 million was provided by the estate of alumnus Peggy Britt, who passed away last year. It is intended to give students who might be unable to attend college the opportunity to do so.
The $5 million is the largest single donation in William Peace's history, according to officials.
Officials said Britt previously donated $1 million in 2022 and helped establish the Peggy Britt Scholarship and the Peggy Britt Endowed Scholarship.
