LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Central Hardin High School underwent a soft lockdown after shots were fired in front of the school’s campus on Thursday.

According to Hardin County Schools spokesperson John Wright, Central Hardin’s main campus entered a soft lockdown at around 2:35 p.m. after shots were fired near the school.

Wright says that two motorists driving down Leitchfield Road in front of the campus engaged in an altercation, leading one of the drivers to brandish a gun and fire it.

No one at the school was injured.

The lockdown was lifted around 3:15 p.m. with help from both the Elizabethtown Police Department and Kentucky State Police.

Police are actively investigating the situation. Both parties involved are accounted for.
