Former University of South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw was hospitalized Wednesday night after he collapsed while coaching his son’s football team.

According to a statement issued by the City of Simpsonville, 33-year old Shaw collapsed approximately 15 minutes after his son's 8U football game began at Gracely Park in Simpsonville. He was transported by EMS to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he remains in stable condition. The exact cause of Shaw's collapse is currently unknown.

Shaw played for the Gamecocks from 2010 through 2013, appearing in 43 games during his career. Throwing 24 touchdown passes and only one interception on 284 pass attempts, Shaw ranks second in career touchdown passes at USC behind Steve Taneyhill, and holds the record for most wins
