CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Mississippi Medical Examiner's Office has determined the manner of "Trey" Reed's death was ruled as a suicide on Thursday, according to the Cleveland Police Department.
On Wednesday, the office conducted an autopsy and found that "the cause of death to be hanging and the manner of death as suicide."
They said final toxicology reports are pending and may take two to four weeks to complete.
CPD said as part of the investigation, all files and investigative material have been turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Attorney's Office for review.
The body of De’Martravion “Trey” Reed, a 21-year-old, first-year student from Grenada, Mississippi, was found around 7:30 a.m., hanging from a tree near the pickleball courts on Monday.
