MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - We are winding down our stretch of above-average temperatures that began last Thursday. Today will be one of the last warm days before we head back down to more seasonable temperatures. Today was also the end of sunnier days before our next system moves in.

To our west is a slow-moving, weak area of low pressure. Scattered showers will move in this evening ahead of the cold front and help to bring us spotty showers overnight. A few embedded storms could be seen within these cells, but only heavy downpours and lightning are expected.

Friday will begin partly to mostly cloudy and dry. Temperatures will be milder than what we’ve felt over the last several days, but many of us will still
