PHOENIX (AZFamily) — There are two major freeway closures to know about this weekend in the Valley as the Arizona Department of Transportation continues work on several improvement projects.

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 will be closed between the I-17 “StacK” interchange and the SR 51 “Mini-Stack” interchange around the downtown Phoenix area for maintenance and inspection work. The closure runs from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Sunday.

Drivers are urged to use I-17 south to reconnect with the I-10 at “The Split” interchange at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

In addition, those traveling through the Tempe and Mesa areas will need to know that the westbound lanes of the U.S. 60 will be closed between Country Club Drive and Interstate 10 for pavement maintenance. It will b
