BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The final results of the special mail ballot election for the vacant city council seat in Arvin have come out and are ready to be certified.
Tim Tarver won the election with 61.18% of the 765 votes, indicating an overwhelming popularity among voters, according to the recently released Kern County Board of Supervisors agenda.
Anabel Quintino Rubio garnered 272, or 35.56% of the votes, while 25 voters voted for Henry R. Oliver, the agenda said.
Tarver will serve as a short-term councilmember. He was previously appointed as an Arvin councilmember and has also served as the mayor of Arvin.
The deadline for returning completed ballots for this election was Aug. 26.
