BOSSIER CITY, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Two Bossier City Police Department (BCPD) officers who were injured in the line of duty are out of the hospital and back home with their families.
On Sunday, September 14, Jonnika Morris received a phone call that no spouse wishes to get. Finding out that her husband, Officer Tre Morris, was injured while responding to a domestic violence call.
"I just got this eerie feeling. And next thing you know, I get a phone call, and I'm like, 'Oh no.' And I don't usually answer unknown numbers, but I did, and that's when I got the news," she says.
Tre was one of two officers struck by gunfire, both sustaining injuries to the hand. Jonnika recounts the relief she felt when she first saw her husband in the hospital.
