LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Wynonna Judd, Harry Connick, Jr. and Mary J. Blige are just a few of the artists who have performed the national athem at the Kentucky Derby.

Churchill Downs announced the honor for the 151st running of the Derby goes to Grammy nominated artist Grace Potter. She will perform at 5 p.m.on Saturday, May 3.

Potter, who performed with the band, The Nocturnals, was nominated for Best Rock Album, Best Rock Performance. Solo since 2015, Potter also nabbed a Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group her duet with Kenny Chesney on “You and Tequila.” Her new album, “Medicine” comes out in July and she’s embarking on a tour with Lexington native, Chris Stapleton.
