PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - The Peoria Fire Department is thanking the teamwork of neighboring departments and businesses for helping prevent a 60-acre field fire from spreading.

Peoria firefighters were called just after 2:30 p.m. to a brush fire at 2424 W. Clark St.

The first arriving firefighters found a 60-acre field on fire and advancing closer to a commercial building.

Multiple hose lines, three brush trucks and a tanker truck from surrounding agencies and two bulldozers from surrounding businesses helped in extinguishing the fire from multiple directions, the fire department said.

The fire department and Peoria Police also used two drones to assist in locating and preventing the spread of the fire.

Firefighters were on scene for three hours.
