Mending Fair: Bring your items in need of mending from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 21 to the Federal Way Library on 34200 1st Way S. to get them fixed for free. At the heart of the Mending Fair is the Refugee Artisan Initiative, a local nonprofit empowering refugee and immigrant women through skilled, income-generating work. The event is put on in partnership between that organization, the library system and the City of Federal Way. Registration is recommended.
