CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Whataburger, a beloved Texas fast food chain, opened its first location in Charlotte on Thursday.

The new restaurant opened at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, and is located along Albemarle Road near Rocky River Road.

At the Whataburger, you’ll find a double drive-thru, spacious dining room, and digital menu boards. There are other locations in the area, but this is the first one in the city limits.

A What-a-bash with a video game truck will also be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. If you want to check it out, prepare for long lines!

More locations coming to North Carolina

Aside from its Charlotte location, Whataburger has opened other restaurants in North Carolina, with more still to come.
